AL RUHU (Red Spirit)
In ancient Turkic shamanic belief, the colour red was considered sacred because it symbolised fire and had the power of transformation. It was believed that fire had a spirit, and this protective spirit was called “Al Ruhu”. Today, the colour red is still used in Anatolia on important occasions such as births and marriages to bring protection and happiness.
