Hittite Sun | Polymer Clay Earrings
The Hittite Sun Disc was a significant symbol of the ancient Hittite civilization and art. Dating from the 17th to the 11th centuries BCE, it has been discovered in Anatolia. The central circle is believed to symbolise the world or the sun, while various motifs above it represent concepts such as reproduction, growth, and abundance. Originally, the sun disc was used by astrologers to determine the positions of stars relative to each other.
Hittite Sun earrings are designed and hand-crafted by an Anatolian artisan in Turkey.
